Matthew 12:1-8

Matthew 12:1-8

So cool to re read this after John Mark's sermon on Sunday and to have understanding of what the Torah was being the words from God's Law, and then the extra laws added to it not from God.

What Jesus and His disciples did on the sabbath: they were hungry.  The picked heads of grain and ate it.

Then they got accused of breaking the laws in the sabbath.

The sabbath is for rest, to be life giving to us.  To refresh and restore us and find that in Jesus.  Taking a break and knowing that the world still will operate without me in it.

I would love to figure out a time to do this with my own family in our home.  To rest and take a break from the normal, to spend time with each other and with Jesus.

Please Lord show me how to do this in our home, that we might all find rest in You.
